Schmidt Puzzles Review

In my Schmidt puzzle review I will share my thoughts and experiences of these puzzles.  See the bottom of the page to watch our video review.

Box

The puzzle comes in a classic rectangular box measuring approximately 37.5 x  27.5 x 5.5 cm (14.5” x 11” x 2.5”).  The front of the box depicts the puzzle image. The back shows images of other Schmidt puzzles available and features information regarding the their manufacturing process.

Inside the box is a sealed bag containing the puzzle pieces, but no extra images of the puzzle.

Puzzle Pieces

The puzzle pieces are on thick, sturdy, well cut cardboard and I have found very few issues with the piece image peeling or bent pieces. There was some puzzle dust but it was quite minimal.

The pieces are all standard puzzle shapes but I have found you get more of the less common shapes.  The pieces also have a quirky cut, the ‘in’ and ‘out’ bits are often different sizes and shapes which helps to find where a piece goes.

The puzzle pieces fit extremely well together, you certainly know when you put a piece in the wrong location.  The pieces interlock snugly together making it easy to move the puzzle or even pick it up!

Puzzle Image

The puzzles that we have tried all had a matt finish which reduced glare. The quality of printing and colours were very good.

Summary

Schmidt is a very good quality German manufacturer of puzzles with a wide variety of puzzle designs ranging from Kinkade Disney to fantasy to transport and so on.  The puzzles only have a box image but the pieces fit extremely well and the image quality is very good.
