Review – Ravensburger Map of The World
This puzzle quite uniquely presents how the world’s landscape was believed to be formed in the mid 17th century. Depicting a world map by the Dutch cartographer William Blaeuw, the very highly detailed map shows the continents represented by different colours as well as some lovely little illustrations of ships and sea creatures for the ocean and sea areas of the world.
Around the map itself are a number of lovely small illustrations. Firstly along the top we find the sun, the moon and five the known planets of the time. The four basic elements are presented on the left and on the right are the four seasons. Finally along the bottom we can find the seven wonders of the ancient world.
External reviews are very positive which is to be expected from a Ravensburger puzzle. Difficulty is mixed though so at 2000 pieces, it could be quite a challenge for some.
